Project Plans
Mt. Pleasant Heights will provide unparalleled connectivity with the surrounding region. It is a smartly planned neighbourhood that will help connect residents to the key amenities in the broader community, such as residential uses, accessible transit and integrated green spaces.
As well, a focus on education, community works and higher densities along arterial roads will ensure that the neighbourhood is seamlessly connected with the rest of the region and remains true to the vision of Brampton West.
The inclusion of mid-rise buildings will help transition the community away from the major arterial roadways, inviting people seamlessly into the community. Accessible at-grade services and conveniences will encourage pedestrian activity and contribute to Mt. Pleasant Heights’ success as a self-sufficient neighbourhood.
Active mobility routes within Mt. Pleasant Heights will provide complementary connections to existing trails and connections to the surrounding communities. These amenities will provide connections for both pedestrians and cyclists and may consist of recreational trails, on-street bike lanes, multi-use trails and sidewalks.
Peel Regional Police and the Region of Peel have identified Mt. Pleasant Heights as an appropriate location for a new police division. More information will become publicly available as we receive the necessary approvals.
Conservation
Natural areas make communities stronger. They are habitat for wildlife, offer scenic vistas and desired greenspaces and provide areas to enjoy passive recreation.
Preserving these spaces is important to us.
The subdivision plan preserves 30 acres of natural woodlot and open space. Large buffers will be preserved along both sides of the West Huttonville Creek. Any trees removed will be adequately compensated for through land dedication, tree replacement and existing woodland enhancement. Our plan for the existing woodland includes removing invasive species, adding biodiversity and improving the ecological health and resiliency of the woodlot.
But it’s not just about preserving natural areas. We are also preserving a part of Brampton’s built heritage.
We are proposing to re-locate a heritage house from the isolated northeastern corner of the site to a location that will be centrally located within the community so that it can be enjoyed by residents and visitors. We are committed to respect the local history and architectural character of the area. Prominently situated at the epicentre of the community, the preserved heritage house will be an iconic feature that will complement the surrounding residential neighbourhood, while creating a visual draw that celebrates the site’s historical traditions.
By the Numbers
We are building a subdivision, but are creating a community. Putting the area’s natural features and landscape at the forefront, Mt. Pleasant Heights integrates a mix of housing styles, all smartly designed to create a neighbourhood feel. The 138-acre community will include:
